About Us

Reeve Young Consulting Ltd. (RYC) is a small and independent consultancy focusing solely on the international oil and gas industry. RYC offers a range of training courses and seminars in addition to a bespoke advisory service for the oil and gas sector with particular expertise in refining, gas monetisation and LNG. Expert witness services are also provided.

Reeve Young Consulting Ltd. is owned and managed by Zoe Young (née Reeve), an experienced chemical engineer with a strong background in oil and gas consultancy and training. Zoe has worked in industry for Exxon Mobil, and as a consultant for Gaffney, Cline & Associates and Channoil Energy and provided training for the Energy Institute, Bayes Business School and for Mennta Energy Solutions.

Training

One of our core offerings is the provision of training courses for the oil and gas sector.

Training can be delivered in a number of different ways, including:

Face to face training courses, either in-house or at a mutually convenient location
Online training courses
Pre-recorded training videos that students can follow at their own pace
Blended learning where the optimal combination of face-to-face training, online training and pre-recorded videos is developed to meet a client’s needs

A key characteristic of our offering is the modular nature of the training. Courses are divided into modules covering various subject areas and, by selecting only the required modules, clients can fully customise the subject matter and depth of training they receive. This also allows the durations of courses to be flexed to meet a client’s needs.

A number of core courses are available, and these can be delivered in their standard format or used as a basis for customisation:

Our training offering has recently been expanded via our association with Peter Stewart of Resource Economist. Peter has worked for more than 30 years as an energy, commodities pricing and environmental consultant and analyst, before becoming a work and careers coach. In the past, Peter was managing director of Interfax Europe Ltd, a director at Standard & Poor's Global Commodities (formerly Platts), and a principal consultant at KBC Advanced Technology.

Reeve Young Consulting Ltd. offers focused, relevant and practical advice to the oil and gas industry. RYC can provide technical, economic and strategic advice covering much of the mid and downstream oil and natural gas value chains.

Deliverables are matched exactly to our clients’ requirements – we do not simply provide off-the-shelf data to our clients but instead provide analysis that is specific to our clients’ needs with conclusions and recommendations that are well thought out, supported by up-to-date analysis and take full account of the specifics of our client’s situation.

Expert Witness

RYC offers 2 key areas of expert witness services.

Firstly, expert witness reports and testimony can be provided on a range of subject matters. Areas of key expertise include refining (technology and economics), oil pricing, gas pricing, and supply and demand and market analysis for oil, refined products, natural gas and LNG. Zoe Young has provided a number of expert reports and testimony over the years and a number of examples are given here.

In addition RYC also offers assistance with the identification of an expert witness. The concept of the service is simple - the process of identifying the best expert witness for the job is optimised by allowing legal experts to focus on legal requirements and oil industry experts to focus on the oil industry.

RYC provide an initial view on the merits of the case identifying the exact nature of the dispute, the areas where expert input is best focused, and hence the areas of expertise required. From here we can quickly focus on identifying and contacting appropriate candidates. If required, we can also provide short courses or presentations to the legal team on the fundamentals of the oil and gas industry that are pertinent to the particular case or dispute.

Reeve Young Consulting Ltd. is owned and managed by Zoe Young (née Reeve).

Zoe is an experienced chemical engineer with over 20 years of industry experience, a strong background in oil and gas consultancy and considerable experience in developing and delivering workshops and training courses.
